Hi, Yes obviously keen to go where there is a 'home and yard' with work and jobs about if available. Always working and flexible to go where I can. Been living in Qld for 26 years, so love the place, but just as keen to give other areas a go. Have done a lot of caretaking sheep and cattle properties, high rise apartment buildings and other private home properties. Would love the opportunity to 'settle down' a lot more, and not have to move on every six months due to landlords selling up or rents hiking up!

Sounds very interesting. I know of a family currently living in another country, that would jump at a chance for this lifestyle change. The kids are teens and the Husband is a keen carpenter and DIY man. He currently builds and renovates cinemas for a living, the wife is well educated too. I guess the only problem is qualifying with there skills and knowledge to get into Australia. Maybe, someone knows how they could be offered a better opportunity and let me know ....

I just wanted to say that anyone interested in the Rent a Farmhouse make sure u have a trade or otherwise u will be wasting your time and money. My family has applied for a house since the start and have been rejected each time because my husband didnt have a trade even though he was willing to do farm work and do IT work and I was an aged care nurse. I also find it disappointing they are more focused on the work side of this process and not wanting to keep the population growth up. So we have decided to save and buy our own tree change then we dont need to feel rejected and unworthy.

This of course is the factor thats important. Its no good moving until you secure a job, and there aren't many ones available apart from farm work and plant maintenance. Thats why the country towns are dying. A lack of jobs.

As I feel this is a worthy cause I have posted to my face-book page and also to a few "Farmer" pages this Groups Web page details. I hope that is acceptable. If not just slap me.... lol
