Sounds very interesting. I know of a family currently living in another country, that would jump at a chance for this lifestyle change. The kids are teens and the Husband is a keen carpenter and DIY man. He currently builds and renovates cinemas for a living, the wife is well educated too. I guess the only problem is qualifying with there skills and knowledge to get into Australia. Maybe, someone knows how they could be offered a better opportunity and let me know ....

I just wanted to say that anyone interested in the Rent a Farmhouse make sure u have a trade or otherwise u will be wasting your time and money. My family has applied for a house since the start and have been rejected each time because my husband didnt have a trade even though he was willing to do farm work and do IT work and I was an aged care nurse. I also find it disappointing they are more focused on the work side of this process and not wanting to keep the population growth up. So we have decided to save and buy our own tree change then we dont need to feel rejected and unworthy.

My daughter and I are looking to relocate to a rural area and thus we have applied to join your community.

Having read several of the posts on the websites and forums, I was wondering exactly what the criteria is that your communities have in mind when shortlisting the applicants?

I may not have a trade, but I have worked on farms before, I can drive a tractor and operate implements, and I also have administration experience and qualifications. I can certainly perform a vast array of renovation and decoration tasks and I love helping others do it to! I am more than willing to help anyone out whenever it is desired or required, or for that matter, even when it is just likely to be appreciated! That is part of why we wish to relocate. We wish to be a part of the community, to be active participants rather than mere residents. Hence, we do not "fit in" here in suburbia.

Anyway, we hope you consider our application worthy and we look forward to hearing from you in the near future!
